Katerina Stefanidou is a Partner in the Financial Services department of Grant Thornton Greece and brings multiple years of professional experience. She is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and holds the ACCA and IESOEL professional designation. During the course of her career, Katerina has developed specific expertise in the financial sector as well as in the private and public sector providing audit and advisory services.
Sector experience
During her career, Katerina Stefanidou has gained expertise in the financial sector in relation to Corporate Governance, Internal Control System Assessment, Compliance, Internal Audit, Operational Process Improvement through the provision of audit, tax and advisory services. Katerina has participated either as a project manager or as a member in major public and private sector projects. She has participated in regular audits of listed and unlisted companies. Katerina was also a member of the team in the Monitoring Trustee project in one of the four systemic banks in Greece for the European Commission and has participated in several regulatory compliance assessment projects. Katerina has participated as a project manager in a large Forensic project in a systemic bank and has participated in various projects aiming at the proper implementation and compliance with the requirements arising from legislative frameworks such as FATCA, CRS and the Qualified Intermediary Agreement 2017 in Greek systemic banks.
Education
Katerina Stefanidou is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Internal Auditor and holds the CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) designation, the professional title of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (IESOEL) and ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants). Katerina is also a regular member of the editorial team of Financial Sector Insights of Grant Thornton.
